Invest Aurora, in conjunction with the City of Aurora, assists in the facilitation of development and redevelopment of properties within the City.

Current RFPs



At the request the City of Aurora, Invest Aurora is seeking proposals for an adaptive reuse of the former West Aurora Public School District 129 Administrative Building. The building is located at 80 South River Street adjacent to the Fox River in historic downtown Aurora, Illinois. Invest Aurora envisions a redevelopment project that will be sensitive to the historic and architectural importance of the downtown as well as complementing and expanding upon the area’s continuing redevelopment.

Invest Aurora is a public/private economic development partnership dedicated to attracting, retaining and promoting commercial, industrial, retail, and mixed-use development in Aurora, Illinois.

Past Projects

At the request of the City of Aurora, Invest Aurora released an RFP in March of 2014 for an adaptive reuse of the Elks Club building located on Stolp Island in historic downtown Aurora. In December of 2014, the City of Aurora awarded the redevelopment of the Elks Club building to Karademas Management. The building will be renovated to house up to 29 residential units on the upper floors and a restaurant on the first floor. 

Some of the other past projects Invest Aurora has assisted with include the redevelopment of the buildings that now house Ballydoyle, Doughballs and Gillerson's Grubbery.
