AURORA, IL — If you live in Aurora, you might be in a good mood today. In fact, you’re probably in a good mood most days, according to a new study by WalletHub that named Aurora one of the happiest cities in America.
The study used positive-psychology research and 28 different factors in its effort to determine the nation’s happiest cities. Of the nearly 200 large cities reviewed in the study, Aurora came in at #45. The only other Illinois city to make the top 100 was Chicago, which was ranked at #99.
Cities received scores in three different categories, including emotional and physical well-being, community and environment, and income and employment.
Here’s where Aurora ranked in each of these three categories:
- Emotional and Physical Well-Being: #39
- Income and Employment: #142
- Community and Environment: #46
